At the same time that the summer weather failed us, we saw both online traffic and sales skyrocket,\u201d says Martina Krantz, press officer at Apollo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cyprus is currently the most popular destination for the autumn holiday, but the Canary Islands occupy two of the top five places on the list. Greece is also a clear autumn favorite, closely followed by the contrasting Madeira. At the same time, Apollo sees a clear trend: more and more people want sun and warmth in the Mediterranean \u2013 even in autumn.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 Interest in travel at the end of summer has increased significantly in recent years, and it is not difficult to understand why. The climate around the Mediterranean is at its best, the swimming temperatures are wonderful and at the same time there is no mass tourism, explains Krantz.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Active holiday? Yes, please!&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the fall break, it is mainly families with school children who travel, but beyond that, the fall months are mainly high season for \u201deveryone else.\u201d Many want to get a last dose of sun before winter, while the pleasant climate attracts active travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Apollo, several of the tour operator&#039;s specialist sports hotels top the list of most popular this autumn \u2013 including the flagship Playitas Resort in Fuerteventura. Apollo Sports can also boast a training calendar packed with fully booked trips and events over the coming months.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 Active holidays and fitness trips are becoming more and more popular with each passing year \u2013 and among all target groups! It has become a big favorite among solo travelers, families, couples and groups of friends of all ages, which is incredibly fun to see, says Krantz.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>City fever&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Weekend getaways are also in high demand, and this fall cities that combine city life with beach life \u2013 such as Palma, Malaga and Dubai \u2013 top the charts. Classics like Rome, Prague and London never go out of style, while Dubrovnik is showing strong growth. The US, on the other hand, has completely lost popularity.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn the past, cities like New York and Los Angeles were self-proclaimed metropolitan favorites, but that changed quickly.
