Between June and August, a total of 1,780,000 passengers travelled on Viking Line's vessels, which is slightly more than the previous year. The freight volume on the shipping company's five vessels increased by 3.6 per cent. At the same time, greenhouse gas emissions decreased thanks to a significant increase in biofuel purchases. This past summer was the first when Viking Line's passengers could choose a completely fossil-free option when booking their journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the line between Helsinki and Tallinn, nearly 740,000 passengers travelled during the summer months, with increased capacity from Viking Cinderella and Gabriella alongside Viking XPRS. The number of passengers between Turku\u2013Stockholm was almost 740,000 and on the Helsinki\u2013Stockholm route, 305,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cool early summer had a slight impact on the number of travellers, but the heatwave in July prompted people to book a sea trip. Customer satisfaction reached its highest level ever during the summer season, according to the company's NPS measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
