The number of guest nights in Sweden during June and July 2025 is the highest in at least ten years, while both hotels and restaurants report higher turnover than last year. In Stockholm, 1.4 million hotel rooms were rented out during June and July in total. This corresponds to an increase of 5.8 percent compared to the same period last year. The average occupancy rate was 72 percent, which is just over two percentage points higher than last year.<br><br>\u2013&nbsp;<em>This is good news for the Swedish tourism industry. The strong occupancy this summer and the fact that we saw more guest nights than in ten years show that Stockholm has effectively recovered from the pandemic.<\/em>, says Daniella Waldfogel, CEO of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.<br><br>The upturn is also visible nationally, where the number of rented rooms increased by 5.6 percent. At the same time, restaurant turnover has increased since last year both in the capital and in the country as a whole.<br><br><em>\u2013&nbsp;<\/em><em>The statistics confirm a broad improvement. In Stockholm, the number of rented hotel rooms increased and occupancy averaged over 70 percent. The development looks similar at a national level. At the same time, restaurant turnover is pointing upwards in both June and July.
