The news helps the airport head towards a record season with an extensive international and national flight program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On January 8, 2026, the first plane will take off from V\u00e4xj\u00f6 Sm\u00e5land Airport with destination S\u00e4len-Trysil. The initiative from the airline V\u00e4stflyg meets a strongly growing demand from travelers in southern Sweden who want fast and smooth transportation to the mountains. The flights will take place on Thursdays and Sundays, perfectly suited for both weekly stays and shorter weekends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is very encouraging news,\u201d he says.&nbsp;<strong>Gunnar Lenman<\/strong>, CEO of Scandinavian Mountains Airport.
