Things are looking bleak for plans for a night train connection between Malm\u00f6 and Basel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both chambers of the Swiss parliament have voted against the initiative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investment was planned to cost the state 10 million Swiss francs, which is equivalent to around 111 million SEK. The project is a collaboration between the German train company RDC and the Swiss SBB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the public service company SRF, Parliament has now voted no<\/a> to contribute to the project. The vote ended with 99 votes to abolish the subsidies, while 92 voted to keep them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
