Continued increased demand for air travel together with new flight routes contributed to a positive result before tax, increased net sales and increased operating profit for Swedavia.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-The increased travel and new commercial initiatives at Arlanda have led to increased revenue. For the first time since the pandemic, Swedavia reports a positive result before tax of SEK 20 million for the full year 2025. This is an improvement of SEK 273 million and an important milestone for the company, says Susanne Norman, Acting CEO and President of Swedavia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Net sales amounted to SEK 6,801 million, an increase of SEK 408 million compared to the previous year. Operating profit increased by SEK 298 million and amounted to a total of SEK 324 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2025, just over 33 million passengers travelled to and from Swedavia's airports. This is an increase of 2.4 percent compared to 2024. The increase was driven by continued international travel of 3.1 percent, while domestic travel was on par with the previous year. In October, the number of international passengers at Arlanda was higher compared to the corresponding month in 2019, before the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the year, the route and destination offering has been strengthened with a total of eight new airlines and 37 new scheduled flights. 23 new flights were opened at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and nine flights at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport. During the year, 23 new destinations were opened, of which 15 at Arlanda and six at Landvetter. Swedavia also welcomed eight new airlines, of which four established themselves at Arlanda and one at Landvetter. In addition, five new charter destinations were opened during the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arlanda was Europe's most punctual airport in 2025 according to Eurocontrol and was named, along with Copenhagen, the continent's best airport in 2025 by the comparison site Hoppa. Among the criteria that formed the basis for the award were punctuality, queues, service and cost-effectiveness for travelers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the year, three more airports, \u00c5re \u00d6stersund Airport, Visby Airport and Kiruna Airport, were certified at Airport Carbon Accreditation level five, the highest international certification within the framework for airport transformation work. This means that seven of Swedavia's ten airports are certified at the highest international level. In 2026, the remaining three airports are planned to reach level five. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Swedavia has been fossil-free in its own airport operations since 2020 and has since then systematically set requirements and shared experiences to drive other actors in ground operations in a fossil-free direction. Swedavia has also made great progress in 2025 in the proactive work of supporting partners at the airports in their transition towards fossil-free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Swedavia's incentive program to stimulate increased use of renewable aviation fuel, SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), continued in 2025. Since its inception in 2020, Swedavia has invested SEK 140 million through the program in discounts and compensation for airlines that refuel with renewable aviation fuel at Swedavia's airports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In December, a decision was made to begin detailed design of the future Pier G at Arlanda, as well as a new baggage facility and expanded check-in capacity at the airport's Terminal 5. The future pier will ensure sufficient capacity at Sweden's largest airport for a long time.
