Finnlines reports stronger results for the first six months of the year, despite a six-month period characterized by rising energy costs, geopolitical uncertainty and stricter environmental requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sales increased to EUR 412.4 million in January\u2013June 2026, compared to EUR 351.9 million in the corresponding period last year. Operating profit (EBIT) rose to EUR 55.8 million, from EUR 39.9 million, while profit before tax improved to EUR 51.2 million from EUR 33.8 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the period, Finnlines transported approximately 409,000 cargo units, 42,000 cars (excluding passenger cars) and 595,000 tonnes of non-unitized cargo. The number of passengers and professional drivers amounted to 431,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to CEO Thomas Doepel, the global energy crisis, the conflict in the Middle East and the tightening of EU emissions trading rules have increased cost pressures for shipping. At the same time, he believes that the company's investments in an energy-efficient fleet and the ability to use multiple energy sources have strengthened its resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
