\u00c5re is the Swedish ski resort that has received the most snow on average over the past five winter seasons. In Norway, Myrkdalen tops the list with more than twice as much snow. This is according to a compilation from Fj\u00e4llfinder of 50 Swedish and Norwegian ski resorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fj:llfinder has compared the reported total snowfall during the winter seasons 2021\/22\u20132025\/26. Among the Swedish ski resorts, \u00c5re comes in highest with an average of 189 centimeters of snow per season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hemavan comes in second with 151 centimeters, followed by Ramundberget with 135 centimeters. Then come Kittelfj\u00e4ll and Kl\u00e4ppen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Norway, the snowfall amounts are significantly greater. Myrkdalen tops the list with an average snowfall of 461 centimeters per season, followed by Geilo with 313 centimeters and Voss Resort with 190 centimeters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSnow data is most useful when it can be compared in the same way between locations. That's why we look at average snowfall per season, not at a single record day or a specific day's snow depth,\u201d says Marcus Fransson at Fj\u00e4llfinder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c5re had large variations between winters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Behind the average are large differences between individual seasons. \u00c5re reported a total of 292, 248, 245, 69 and 89 centimeters of snow over the five winters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myrkdalen simultaneously recorded 612, 516, 366, 375 and 435 centimeters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The compilation is based on historical report values from Skiinfo's archives. Fj\u00e4llfinder reviewed 134 published destinations in Sweden and Norway, but the ranking only includes the 50 ski resorts that had complete and comparable statistics for all five seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Fj\u00e4llfinder emphasizes that historical statistics can be used as guidance before a ski trip, but that current snow depth, open lifts, temperature and weather forecasts also need to be taken into account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
