A record number of tourists visited Stockholm this summer, according to figures obtained by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201dThe trend is clear and shows that Stockholm is becoming an increasingly strong city for visitors,\u201d says Daniella Waldfogel, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During June and July, 3.6 million guest nights were registered in Stockholm, an increase of 8 percent compared to the summer of last year. This is the highest level ever measured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201d"Last summer we were able to see that tourism was back after the pandemic. Now we are breaking records again," says Waldfogel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the period, 1.5 million hotel rooms were rented out and the average price for a room increased by 12 percent to SEK 1,645.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every third guest night in the capital comes from visitors outside the Nordic region, the Chamber of Commerce writes in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
