The luxury Ritz-Carlton hotel in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, is set to begin receiving guests again, after serving as a temporary detention center for a couple of hundred princes, ministers and businessmen.

According to the hotel, it is now possible to book rooms from mid-February.

In November, the guests were forced to move out and were replaced by prominent figures accused of corruption. Saudi authorities expect most of the suspects to agree to financial settlements in exchange for their freedom. Saudi Arabia expects this to boost its treasury by around SEK 800 billion.

Several people have been released, including Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, who according to Saudi sources has paid over 8 billion kronor. The announcement that the hotel will soon reopen may be a sign that the authorities are close to a solution to the remaining cases.

One of those who will be at the hotel against their will is Preem's owner Mohammed Al-Amoudi.
