SAS airline pilots in Sweden, Norway and Denmark have joined forces in a joint union.

The unions have formed the SAS Pilot group with the aim of improving the negotiating situation with the employer.

”"We are being played off against each other in all negotiations. Now SAS SAS +0.3% has started using the conditions in its Irish subsidiary as a yardstick for what we in Scandinavia should produce flight hours for. SAS is trying to divide us," says René Arpe, chairman of the Danish Pilots' Association, to the website check-in.dk.

SAS's 1,400 pilots in Scandinavia are divided between four unions, one in Sweden, one in Denmark and two in Norway. No national union should be able to enter into an agreement with the employer without the agreement of the joint union.
