The troubled European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is to cut its number of employees by up to 3,700, and the crisis is hitting several countries.
The company is having problems with sales of the large passenger aircraft A380 and with delivery delays and technical problems with the military transport aircraft A400M.
The cuts affect 1,900 jobs in Germany, 850 in Spain, 470 in France and 450 in the UK.
Consultants and people with temporary contracts will be the first to go.
Airbus says the company will handle the package in a "responsible manner" towards employees.
