At noon, a group of lively and happy 95-year-olds stood ready to cut the ribbon and inaugurate the season – and Liseberg's 95th anniversary. Inside the gates, in addition to this year's news, a party atmosphere awaits all weekend with a schedule packed with fun activities and performances.

Today at noon, the first guests of the year were let in through the main entrance to the traditional opening ribbon. The ribbon was cut by Evert Borstam, born in 1923 and the same age as the amusement park. Gothenburg's, if not Sweden's, liveliest and happiest 95-year-olds had been recruited to declare this year's summer season open, which they did with flying colors.

Another of the happy 95-year-olds was Ester Alléus, who took the opportunity to share a Liseberg memory from the past:

– It was a lot of fun back then when we went dancing at Liseberg. People didn't have TVs back then.

When the ribbon was cut, expectant guests continued into the park on the pink carpet in a shower of soap bubbles and balloons. Inside the park, both new and old favorites awaited. The swing has changed both its location and appearance this year. In fact, it is a completely new version of the popular carousel that has been placed next to Tyrol in the southern area. With more seats and a new look, but with the same great feel, it is ready for dizzying rides all summer long.

Up in the Liseberg Tower you will find the new ice cream café Chill Factory. Here you will find delicious ice cream creations, milkshakes, salads, grilled paninis, pastries and espresso coffee.

Also new for this summer is that Spökhotellet Gasten is now included in the Stora Åkpasset, Allt-i-ett and Stora Guldpasset. Spökhotellet Gasten is also celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
