All Twitter users should change their password for the service, the company wrote in a message.

A bug has caused users' passwords to be printed in clear text in the company's own logs. The problem has been fixed and Twitter's own investigation shows no signs of passwords being leaked.

”"Out of an abundance of caution, we ask you to consider changing your password on all services where you have used that password," Twitter writes.

Twitter has 330 million users. It is unclear how many passwords were affected, but a source familiar with the company's handling of the bug said it was a significant number - and that they had been exposed "for months.".

Typically, passwords are encrypted in internal systems so that Twitter employees see a random combination of numbers and letters.
Change your password, use it only on Twitter, and enable two-factor authentication, the company advises, ”although we have no reason to believe that password information ever left Twitter’s systems.”.
