Air Baltic has placed an order for up to 60 C Series300 aircraft from Bombardier.
This is stated in a press release. The order is divided into the purchase of 30 aircraft with an option for an additional 30 aircraft. For the 30 aircraft that Air Baltic intends to purchase, the current list prices total $2.9 billion, equivalent to SEK 25.9 billion.
However, if Air Baltic chooses to exercise its options and purchase all 60 aircraft, the total order value will rise to $5.9 billion. It is worth adding that discounts often occur in the airline industry for larger purchases. The C Series aircraft have already formed the backbone of Air Baltic's new business plan – Destination 2025. Under it, Air Baltic has already committed to purchasing 20 aircraft of the same model, bringing the total to 50 C Series.
That's enough to take first place in Europe and second place globally in terms of being the largest airline with C Series aircraft.
