Kristianstad Österlen Airport loses its only airline on the Kristianstad - Stockholm route after Sparrow Aviation ceases its flight operations as of Monday, June 25.
In a press release, the airport's CEO Jonas Haak writes that "from the airport's side, we are very sorry about the problems affecting passengers. We of course regret Sparrow's announcement that the flights must be canceled.".
According to the press release, the airport is negotiating with another company and hopes to be able to present an alternative shortly.
Last fall, P4 Kristianstad reported in a review of the airport that fewer people are flying and that the loss-making Kristianstad Österlen Airport is dependent on subsidies to survive.
