Vietnamese Bamboo Airways has committed to purchasing 20 787-9 Dreamliners from Boeing.

The aircraft are worth $5.6 billion, according to current list prices.
This is stated in a press release.

Bamboo Airways is a new airline that plans to launch next year. Initially, it will cover routes within Vietnam before taking the overseas expansion step towards Northeast Asia.

Boeing says Bamboo Airways has made the necessary down payment for the aircraft, which are scheduled to begin delivery from April 2020 through the end of 2021.

Behind Bamboo Airways is the Vietnamese conglomerate FLC Group.
