
The Norwegian airline Norwegian reports an EBITDA result of 538 million Norwegian kroner for the second quarter.
Expected was -165 million, according to Inquiry Financial.
Adjusted for non-recurring items, operating profit at the EBITDA level amounted to 83.1 million Norwegian kroner (256). Here, -383 million Norwegian kroner was expected, according to Inquiry.
Net sales amounted to 10,228 million Norwegian kroner, which is less than the expected 10,514 million.
Norwegian had the highest capacity increase (ASK) ever in a quarter with 48 percent.
During the second quarter, the number of passengers increased by 18 percent compared to the same quarter in 2017.
The company also expects a decline in last-minute bookings during the third quarter due to the warm summer in the Nordic region, and a continued increase in capacity.
Norwegian expects a capacity increase (ASK) of 40 percent for the full year 2018, and for the third quarter increases of 34 and 38 percent are expected.
