At least twelve people have been injured after an explosion on Thursday evening near an airport in Cairo, Egypt, military sources said.
The twelve have been taken to hospital. The explosion occurred at a factory in an area controlled by the military.
Egypt's aviation authority says the explosion did not take place at the airport itself, as some witnesses have reported.
”"Air traffic continues. Neither departing nor arriving flights are affected," a spokesperson for the authority said in a statement.
