The death toll from Typhoon Jebi in Japan has risen to around ten.

And thousands of people were forced to spend the night at Kansai International Airport.

Hurricane-force winds on Tuesday slammed a ship into the bridge that connects the airport – which is located on an ”H”-shaped artificial island – to the outside world. With flights also canceled, 3,000 people were stranded overnight into Wednesday.

The airport is now being evacuated by sea.
