For the first time in more than forty years, a commercial aircraft has flown between Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and the Somali capital Mogadishu.
The newly opened route is flown by private Ethiopia National Airways and is seen as a sign of improved relations between the neighboring countries.
”It has never been easy, we have tried so many times, but in the end we have succeeded and the day is finally here,” said Abera Lemi, who owns the company, at a ceremony.
