For 33 years, Jan Larsén has successfully led Stromma, which has expanded to five countries and 13 cities with the main focus on "Tours & Activities".

After a successful career at Stromma, Jan Larsén is approaching his 65th birthday and retirement. He will step down as CEO in 2019.

Since 1985, Jan Larsén has assumed the role of CEO of Stromma, having joined the company in 1981. At that time, the company operated archipelago traffic in Stockholm with chartered vessels and a small sightseeing operation. The company was sold in 1992 to Bore Lines AB, which operated the Tourist Sightseeing brand in Stockholm. He became CEO of Bore Lines in 1994, and five years later, Bore and Stromma merged and were named Stromma Turism & Sjöfart AB.

With 140 passenger boats and 100 double-decker buses, Stromma today has a turnover of one billion kronor and is a leader in its industry in Northern Europe. Expansion outside Sweden began in Helsinki in 2010, in Copenhagen in 2011 and in Oslo in 2012. The Amsterdam operation was acquired in 2016. The focus on ”Tours & Activities” and expansion outside Sweden will continue in the future.

The search for a successor to Jan Larsén will begin in the autumn and the formal transition will take place in 2019 when the new CEO is elected and ready to take office. After this takes office, Jan Larsén will be associated with the company as a senior advisor.
