British airline Flybe's stock is surging on Friday after Sky News revealed that Virgin Atlantic is interested in taking over the crisis-stricken company.

Flybe confirms interest. Easyjet and infrastructure company Stobart Group are also in discussions, Flybe states according to the Financial Times.

It was on November 14th that Flybe declared itself for sale in connection with a weak interim report. All the air had already gone out of the stock since a profit warning on October 17th, when it had fallen by 70 percent until yesterday.

On Friday, however, there is a different sound in the bark and the stock climbs over 50 percent at 2 p.m.
