More than 1,200 flights to and from the United States were canceled on Sunday due to snowstorms in the US states of Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa.

With wind gusts of up to 22 meters per second and up to 30 centimeters of snow, the storm caused disruption to air traffic.

Most of the flight cancellations affected Chicago airports, where around 900 flights were canceled.
