Norwegian Air is launching direct flights between London Gatwick and Rio de Janeiro.

The first flight will take off on March 31, 2019 and it will be the company's first destination in Brazil.

”"We look forward to making South America even more accessible to travelers from Europe, but especially to being able to offer Brazilians cheap flights to Europe," says Norwegian NAS +0.18%s CEO Bjørn Kjos in a press release.

The new route will operate four times a week and is described as having good connections with Norwegian flights from Stockholm Arlanda, Copenhagen and Oslo.
