London airports Gatwick and Heathrow have ordered military anti-drone equipment worth several million pounds, equivalent to tens of millions of kronor, writes The Times newspaper.

Unmanned aerial vehicles, known as drones, led to the closure of air traffic at Gatwick for a day and a half at the end of December.

The airport management has not commented on the details of the order.

UK Transport Secretary Chris Grayling met with representatives from the police, aviation sector and the armed forces on Thursday to discuss the issue.
