Norwegian's total passenger traffic, RPK, rose 24 percent in December, compared to the same month the previous year.

This is evident from the company's monthly statistics.
Capacity (ASK) increased by 34 percent, while the load factor decreased by 6 percentage points to 78.6 percent.

Norwegian, revenue per passenger kilometer, increased by 4 percent compared to the same month last year.

The so-called Rask level, a measure of revenue per available airline seat, fell by 4 percent.

The number of passengers amounted to 2.77 million, which was an increase of 15 percent compared to the same month the previous year. Norwegian thus broke a new passenger record for the full year of 2018 with over 37 million passengers and a cabin factor of 86 percent.

The report shows that the company expects a loss of NOK 1,836 million from entered hedging contracts and options at the end of December, including NOK 1,989 million related to unrealized hedge positions. In a press release, the company writes that the yet unrealized loss from fuel price hedging is included in the 2018 financial year and that it therefore considers itself well positioned regarding fuel price hedging for 2019.
