It has long been known that New York is a popular travel destination.
But the city that never sleeps has never been more popular than now.
The city's tourism office reports that 62.5 million tourists visited New York in 2018, a new record. The majority, just over 51 million people, came from other parts of the United States. Most foreign tourists came from the United Kingdom and China.
Nearly 400,000 people work in tourism in the city, which expects 67 million visitors in 2019.
