The owners of the loss-making Norwegian low-cost airline Norwegian Air Shuttle have approved the board's proposal for a guaranteed new share issue of three billion Norwegian kroner, according to chairman of the board Bjørn Kise.

The issue proposal, approved by over 99 percent of the votes, was presented at the end of January after British Airways owner IAG decided to cancel an attempt to buy Norwegian.

Norwegian's shares fell 2.2 percent after the decision of the extraordinary general meeting and have thus fallen by just over 70 percent since April last year.
