FlixBus and Transdev Group have agreed in their negotiations that FlixBus will acquire Eurolines and isilines' express bus operations.
The Eurolines / isilines brands and operations now officially belong to FlixBus. Negotiations for the acquisition were initiated on March 4 and completed on April 30, 2019.
In the coming months, FlixBus and Eurolines will work together to integrate their businesses and networks. Eurolines' operational activities in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Spain, with a route network spanning 25 countries, will now be transferred to FlixBus. All markets with local Eurolines companies will in future be managed by managing directors from FlixBus and the respective local units. Transdev Group will retain its B2B bus rental business in France, which will be operated under the Transdev (formerly isilines) brand.
– We want to offer green and affordable mobility to travelers worldwide. Eurolines' and Isilines' network of express bus routes allows us to further increase our coverage in Europe, says Jochen Engert, founder and CEO of FlixBus.
– Our respective teams have managed to quickly and efficiently complete the negotiations with FlixBus regarding the sale of Transdev's long-distance bus services. The deal is part of Transdev's new strategic plan to focus on our core business, namely public transport and B2B assignments, i.e. assignments for the business sector and more., comments Thierry Mallet, Chairman and CEO of Transdev Group.
