Travel giant confirms: Triton has made an offer

Thomas Cook Group is in negotiations with private equity firm Triton regarding the sale of its Nordic operations, according to sources. Sky News.

Sky's sources add that the takeover discussions are in an early stage and that the deal is not certain to happen.

The Nordic operations account for around 20 per cent of Thomas Cook's workforce of 21,000 employees, according to Sky.

The operations include the tour operators Ving, Globetrotter, Spies, Tjäreborg, the airline Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia, and the hotel company Hotels & Resorts within Thomas Cook Northern Europe.
