A woman who fell asleep on a flight between Quebec and Toronto woke up in a completely deserted and darkened aircraft, reports the BBC.

When she realized what had happened, the woman managed to call a friend and tell them where she was, before her cell phone went out. With no power on the grounded plane, she couldn't charge her phone, but she managed to get to the cockpit, where she found a flashlight with which she tried to attract the attention of airport staff.

Air Canada has confirmed the incident, which occurred in early June, and according to the woman, has called a couple of times and apologized.

The company states that they are investigating how the staff could miss that a passenger was still on the plane before they left it.
