Rain, cold and dense cloud cover. This is what the weekend looks like in large parts of Sweden.
But next week, summer could make a comeback, according to Erik Rindeskär, meteorologist at Foreca.
It has been a cold week throughout the country, with temperatures around 15 degrees, clouds and rain showers.
Towards the weekend, it looks like it will get warmer in the south and on the west coast, but in central and northern Sweden most of the cold air will remain, according to Erik Rindeskär, meteorologist at Foreca.
The prevailing fire risk in central and southern Sweden also looks set to decrease and disappear almost completely, due to heavy rain in some places. In the Stockholm area, just over eight millimeters of rain could fall during the day on Friday, but there should be no risk of flooding.
– During Friday and Saturday it looks like it will be cloudy and rainy with around 18 degrees. It's not a huge amount even though it falls over large parts of the country, says Erik Rindeskär to Aftonbladet TV.
– We will have to put up with this low-pressure weather and the slightly colder air until at least the middle of next week. After that, the situation is a bit uncertain.
The sun and warmth seem to be returning
According to Thursday's forecast, it looks like the gray skies will break up sometime Tuesday evening.
At the same time, temperatures are expected to rise across the country.
– On Wednesday, the heat looks like it will return. It's not about any extreme temperatures, but we will be back above the twenty-degree mark, up to 25 degrees Celsius next weekend, says Erik Rindeskär.
