The popular roller coaster Lisebergsbanan at the Liseberg amusement park in Gothenburg stopped and had to be evacuated on Sunday - for the second day in a row, reports P4 Gothenburg.
– It was due to a technical fault that we have not yet investigated. It stopped automatically when the security system tripped. They were allowed to leave under controlled conditions, says Anders Fridehäll, park manager at Liseberg, to Expressen.
The evacuation, which took place via a staircase, was described as having gone smoothly. The approximately 40 passengers were trapped for 25 minutes.
The attraction also stopped on Saturday and passengers had to be evacuated after being seated for around half an hour.
The 1.3-kilometer Lisebergsbanan was inaugurated in 1987 and was at the time Europe's longest roller coaster. The attraction can take 110 passengers at a time.
