The fatal crashes of Boeing's 737 Max have hit the company hard. Further evidence came when the company presented its delivery figures for the third quarter on Tuesday evening.
The American aircraft manufacturer delivered a total of 63 aircraft in the third quarter, which covers July through September of the company's broken fiscal year. The figure is a sharp decline compared to the third quarter of last year, when Boeing delivered a total of 190 commercial aircraft.
So far this year, the company has delivered a total of 302 aircraft. By the end of September last year, the company had delivered 568 aircraft.
The figures are the latest evidence of the crisis that has hit the company since the 737 Max model was grounded in March following two crashes that killed a total of 346 people. In September, only two planes of the model were delivered, compared to 61 a year ago.
Boeing also suffered more negative news on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) announced that more tests will be required before the 737 Max can be returned to service. According to the Wall Street Journal, this could cause further delays before the global flight ban is lifted.
