Bankrupt travel giant Thomas Cook's 555 British stores are being bought by competitor Hays Travel. The BBC reports.

Hays Travel has previously hired 421 former Thomas Cook employees after the bankruptcy.

The acquisition of the stores means that up to 2,500 additional jobs will be saved and Hays Travel will thus radically increase its store strength from 190 to 745 stores.
