The airline Norwegian has been clear that it will demand compensation from both Boeing and Rolls-Royce for its problems and to cover the additional costs incurred.
However, it is unclear how much the company will demand and what the suppliers want to give - but the company has already reached an agreement with the engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce, reports the Norwegian news site E24.
”"We have an agreement. We can't say much about the details, but generally I can say that in the industry you can usually get credits that can be used to settle against future deliveries," Geir Karlsen, CFO and acting CEO at Norwegian, tells the site.
At the same time, he informs that the dialogue with Boeing is ongoing and that the company will be at its headquarters in Fornebu for the next two days. The Norwegian CEO is discussing both compensation and deliveries with Boeing, he states.
”"They will not be able to keep the delivery schedule they have with the airlines for the Max aircraft. We are also discussing some other things about the relationship with Boeing. I think we both want a solution," says Geir Karlsen.
