The airline SAS is opening a direct route to Haneda Airport in Tokyo from Copenhagen, according to a press release.
SAS will operate the route starting in the summer of 2020.
”"Japan is already a very popular destination, and this will be a positive boost for our travelers, both for business and leisure travel," says SAS CEO Rickard Gustafson in the press release.
With SAS opening the new route, the company will stop flying to the other Tokyo airport, Narita.
Japan's largest airline, ANA, which like SAS is a member of Star Alliance, will open a direct route between Stockholm and Tokyo in the spring of 2020.
