A passenger plane with 100 people on board has crashed into a building in Kazakhstan. At least 14 people have died in the crash, Reuters news agency reports. There are survivors and rescue workers are currently working at the scene.
The plane, belonging to the airline Bek Air, crashed into a two-story building at the airport, as it had just taken off from Almaty in Kazakhstan on its way to the capital Nursultan.
According to the country's Civil Aviation Committee, "the plane lost altitude during takeoff and broke through a concrete fence" before the crash, reports Reuters.
100 people on the flight
There were 95 passengers and five crew members on board the plane, according to Reuters. At least 14 people have been confirmed dead and 35 people have been injured, the news agency reports. AP with reference to local authorities.
No data on Swedes
According to the Reuters news agency, there are survivors after the crash, airport staff say. Rescue forces are working at the scene.
– At the moment we have no information about injured Swedes, says Olle Lundin, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press service.
