Stena Line is laying off 600 employees and giving 150 people notice of termination in the UK and Ireland as a result of Covid-19 and the lockdowns that have hit travel and transport in Europe very hard. 

This is stated in a press release. 

Stena Line has already given notice of layoffs to 950 people in its Swedish operations due to the impact on travel caused by the virus outbreak. The notice includes employees on both the sea and land sides, the company wrote in a press release. 

Stena Line has also offered to convert the car and passenger ferry Stena Saga into a hospital ship for corona patients, something that industry website Shippax first reported.
