The British government is expected to announce today that the country's lockdown will be extended by three weeks, reports Business Insider.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is deputising for Prime Minister Boris Johnson during his sick leave, will announce the decision at the government's daily press conference later on Thursday.
The UK Department of Health reported on Wednesday that another 761 people had died after testing positive for Covid-19. A total of 12,868 people have died in UK hospitals out of a total of 98,476 people who have tested positive.
However, British Chief Medical Officer Chris Witty said on Wednesday that "we are probably approaching the peak overall.".
