The dance floors in Iceland were filled with partygoers when nightclubs were allowed to open again, after nine weeks of closure.

Nightclubs are allowed to admit up to 200 guests. However, they must close at 11 p.m., just like the bars and arcades that were also allowed to reopen on Monday.

Iceland is the first country in Europe after Latvia where nightclubs have been allowed to reopen.

In South Korea, the capital Seoul's clubs were allowed to open in early May – but they were soon closed again after a new wave of infections was traced to visitors.

Iceland has reported 1,804 confirmed cases of coronavirus and ten deaths.
