The British low-cost airline easyJet is returning to Stockholm Arlanda Airport after a 3-month hiatus and is launching a new direct route to London Gatwick while also resuming traffic to Berlin, Geneva and Milan in July.

easyJet is returning to Arlanda after its hiatus during the covid-19 pandemic with a new direct route to the British capital on July 20. They will operate the Stockholm Arlanda-London Gatwick route 4 times a week all year round with an A320. The airline is alone on the Arlanda-Gatwick route, while SAS and British Airways fly Arlanda-Heathrow. easyJet flew Arlanda-Luton as recently as last autumn.

easyJet also resumed services to Berlin Tegel on July 1, followed by Milan Malpensa on July 31 and Geneva in September.

Changes in the aviation market after the shutdown during the pandemic have resulted in opportunities to operate routes previously flown by other airlines at Arlanda.

Several airlines are now back at Swedavia's ten airports and traffic is gradually increasing during the summer, primarily to European destinations, to be escalated in the autumn.

– It is extremely pleasing that easyJet is also back at Arlanda, partly by resuming traffic to several of their existing popular destinations and also with a new direct route to London Gatwick, says Charlotte Ljunggren, Director of Market & Commercial Development at Swedavia.
We look forward with confidence to getting more air traffic and travelers back to our airports once the situation has stabilized, borders are open, and travel advisories are lifted. In addition to following the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Sweden, we have implemented extensive infection control measures to create a safe environment for both employees and travelers at all of our airports.
