The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) has appointed Aviareps to represent them as a PR and trade representation agent in the Nordic market (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway). Aviareps' mission is to showcase Japan as a multifaceted tourist destination throughout the Nordic market in trade, media, and various consumer groups.
The number of visitors from the Nordic region to Japan exceeded 141,000 in 2019, with an annual growth rate of 6.31%, the highest number of visitors from the region ever recorded, and JNTO aims to stimulate further growth in the market.

Tomohide Ichikawa, Executive Director at JNTO London Office, says: ”In the near future, the ”new normal’ will reshape people’s travel preferences. Japan has much to offer as a tourist destination and is keen to welcome visitors from the Nordic region to the wide range of experiences on offer, including unique natural landscapes, regional cultures and city breaks.
We are very happy to have Aviareps as our partner and
look forward to working with them to strengthen our
marketing strategies in close collaboration with Nordic
media and travel agencies.”

Thomas Drechsler, Chief Operating Officer Tourism, AVIAREPS, says: ”It is a great honor for Aviareps to represent JNTO in the Nordic market. Our professional travel marketing teams and PR professionals help to increase the growth and number of visitors from Scandinavia and Finland.”
Tapani Kauhanen, General Manager Nordic Countries, says: ”We are happy and very proud to be the first JNTO representatives ever in the Nordic market. Our local presence in each Nordic country is a great asset in achieving the set goals.”
