The American airline giant American Airlines is notifying 25,000 employees that they may be laid off starting October 1.
The company has – like other airlines around the world – been hit by a sharp decline in travel as a result of the corona pandemic.
CEO Doug Parker and Chairman of the Board Robert Isom say in a message to employees that as the number of infected people in several states in the US is now increasing, demand is decreasing again.
