All Swedes are welcome to enter Denmark starting Saturday night - but with restrictions, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces.
Sweden now meets Danish criteria for low risk of infection. The requirement is that the number of people infected with Covid-19 should be below 20 per 100,000 inhabitants in a country, which Sweden actually is slightly higher than, but Denmark has taken into account the rapidly declining trend.
Denmark has gradually opened up to Swedish travelers during the summer, but confusion has arisen because different rules have applied depending on where in Sweden you live. When the announcement came today that all Swedes will be allowed into Denmark, it will be with restrictions for the majority.
Only people registered in Skåne, Blekinge and Halland are allowed to enter Denmark without any other requirement than proof of their registered address.
For people from the rest of Sweden, proof of a registered address is also required, but also that you either have at least 6 booked overnight stays in Denmark, or that you have special reasons to stay in the country, such as work or visiting relatives.
