The American airline Delta Airlines continues to show red numbers. The company is losing 47.5 billion kronor according to its latest quarterly report.

According to the latest quarterly report, which was published on Tuesday, Delta Airlines lost $5.4 billion, equivalent to 47.5 billion kronor, during the third quarter.

At 4:40 p.m. Swedish time, the company's shares had fallen 1.5 percent since the stock market opened on Tuesday.

From the same period last year, the airline's revenue has decreased by 75 percent, from $12.5 billion (110 billion SEK) to $3 billion. 

The corona pandemic has hit major airlines like Delta hard, which have focused heavily on business travel and large international networks, two areas that have been hit hard by the pandemic.

Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the company has recorded more than $11 billion (96.7 billion SEK) in losses, and as a result, approximately one in five employees has had to leave the company.

According to the company's chairman, it could take up to two years before the company's income normalizes.
