SJ is introducing more departures during weekends. Weekend traffic will be increased by 15 percent from November 9, corresponding to just over 5,000 seats each weekend.
The routes where the trips are being increased are Stockholm-Malmö and Stockholm-Gothenburg. The reason is that travel has increased since travel restrictions were lifted in June.
– Many leisure travelers want to travel on Fridays and Sundays, which means that the bookable seats on the express trains are filling up quickly. We also continue to have a number of seats blocked on the trains to create the opportunity to sit with a vacant seat next to you. By strengthening the offer, we can give more people the opportunity to travel, says SJ's press manager Tobbe Lundell, in a press release.
