The construction group NCC has signed a contract for the expansion of a new water park at the Liseberg amusement park in Gothenburg. The water park has been named Oceana.
The assignment is carried out through the development company Liseberg Skår AB and the order value amounts to approximately SEK 700 million, NCC writes in a press release.
“"It will be a magnificent water experience, unlike anything else on the market in Scandinavia today. It feels fantastic to be able to offer this type of experience indoors and thus adapted to our Swedish climate," writes Thomas Sjöstrand, CEO of Liseberg's Anniversary Project, in a comment.
Oceana will be approximately 13,600 square meters in size with a swimming area of approximately 6,000 square meters indoors and 4,000 square meters outdoors.
In addition, there will be 14 rides in Oceana, four of which will be larger water attractions.
“The water park will accommodate approximately 1,750 people at most,” writes NCC.
Construction will begin immediately and the water park is expected to be completed in early 2024.
