The Danish government will extend the current lockdown restrictions to the entire country, TV2 reports.
The measures, introduced last week in parts of Denmark, include the closure of bars, restaurants and museums after signs of a rapid increase in infection cases.
The restrictions also mean that school students from 5th grade and up have been sent home.
Currently, 69 municipalities are covered by the restrictions.
– The municipalities that have so far been exempted will be covered by the stricter restrictions that have so far been applied in 69 of the country's municipalities, says TV2's political analyst Hans Redder.
The shutdown is expected to be presented by the government at a press conference later today.
